“Tiejian Qizhong 5000” Successfully Delivered
In December 2024, the "Tiejian Qizhong 5000"—a 5,000-ton self-propelled fully revolving crane vessel independently built by Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and invested in by China Railway Construction Port and Channel Engineering Bureau Group (CRCC PG)—was officially delivered in Nantong, Jiangsu. With a total length of 203 meters, a width of 50 meters, and a depth of 18 meters, the vessel is equipped with a globally leading 5,000-ton fully revolving crane, boasting a main hook lifting height of 130 meters for its main hook. This capability has earned it the title of "super strongman of the sea".
The vessel's core technological breakthrough lies in its domestically developed closed-loop dynamic positioning system and dual-mode positioning technology with an eight-point mooring system. It is powered by three 3,000 kW fully revolving thrusters and three 2,500 kW bow thrusters, enabling centimeter-level precision operations in waters up to 100 meters deep under DP2 dynamic positioning mode. With a speed of 8 knots, it supports unlimited navigation area deployment. The entire vessel boasts 100% independent intellectual property rights, featuring a main deck cargo area of approximately 6,000² and a uniformly distributed load capacity of 15 tons per square meter.
The delivery and deployment of this vessel hold significant strategic importance for China's efforts to build a strong maritime nation and achieve its "dual carbon" (peaking emissions and carbon neutrality) goals.
